Meet the DBC Team: Caroline Yodice

Welcome to our new series spotlighting the incredible people that make up the DBC team.

Next up is Caroline Yodice, Executive Vice President.

What is your role at DBC and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am Executive Vice President at DBC, and I’ve been here for 4 years as of this month! As cliche as it sounds, no two days are ever the same. My role is a hybrid of internal leadership and external growth, usually split across three main buckets:

  • In the Trenches with the Team: First and foremost, I’m working alongside my account teams. I don’t just oversee strategy; I get my hands dirty helping them pitch press, identify opportunities and write content.
  • Marketing DBC: I spend a good deal of my time treating DBC itself like a client. That means managing our presence across our website, social, email, and events, and ensuring DBC is practicing what we preach in terms of brand building.
  • Driving Growth: I’m constantly prospecting and connecting with adtech leaders to find new partners. My goal is to identify businesses where our specific expertise can actually move the needle and help them hit their revenue goals.

Favorite ad campaign of all time?

Not an ad campaign but it’s top of mind right now: Spotify Wrapped.  Using user data to create personalized, shareable annual summaries of listening habits that people share every year is genius. Spotify turned data collection into a beloved annual holiday. It creates a guaranteed 24-hour period every December where Spotify dominates all social media feeds for free, simply by letting users brag about their taste of music. And now other brands are following suit with their owned wrapped concept.

If I have to go with a more traditional ad campaign, for some reason I love the Puppy Monkey Baby ad from the 2016 SuperBowl. It’s been 10 years and it still stays with me because it was so weird but catchy.

What’s your favorite or least favorite industry buzz word and why?

There is a whole lot of jargon in this industry! My favorite right now is GEO or Generative Engine Optimization. As the next evolution of SEO, there is so much opportunity to optimize how companies come up in AI and I’m excited to take that on for our clients.

What’s playing in your headphones right now?

My team knows I am a metalhead because of my concert PTO habits. I also have a deep appreciation for rock legends. I’m going to see AC/DC later this year so I’m listening to a lot of them in preparation.

When it comes to streaming- The Pitt Season 2 on HBO. I wish I didn’t have to wait weekly for a new episode.

What’s your go-to drink order?

Unsweetened black iced tea- any season, any time of day. Peach or raspberry flavoring when available.

This or That?

Embargo vs Exclusive strategies

Exclusive. Giving one top-tier reporter a deep, exclusive look often results in a more thoughtful story.

Pen & paper notes or Google Docs?

Google Docs. I need to be able to Ctrl+F my thoughts later.
