Welcome to our series spotlighting the incredible people that make up the DBC team.
Next up is Taylor Sansum, Senior Manager, Content.
What is your role at DBC, and what does a typical day look like for you?
As a Senior Manager, Content at DBC, I’ve spent the past three years helping clients drive thought leadership through speaking opportunities at industry events and capture the attention of prospects through award wins. As an extension of my awards and events remit, I update the DBC Industry Calendar – the database created by DBC for the industry to find and list events for the advertising, marketing and insights industries. Further, I support DBC’s marketing strategy and development.
A typical day consists of managing award deadlines and event dates for both clients and the Industry Calendar, making recommendations on which awards and events clients should consider, and drafting award entries for clients. I also maintain DBC’s monthly marketing calendar and draft content for DBC’s LinkedIn and blog.
What do you like most about working/supporting clients in this industry?
What I enjoy most about working in this industry is how it’s never stagnant. It’s constantly evolving and adapting to changes, and it’s so interesting to see how players are working to navigate a seemingly continuous flux.
Favorite ad campaign of all time?
The iPod silhouette campaign is my favorite. It’s just very of its time and was a cool way for me to discover new music in the early to mid-aughts. Rewatching some of the ads now gives the ultimate nostalgia rush.
What are you watching (or re-watching) on streaming right now?
I’m heavily into reality TV, so I’ve been watching Love Is Blind on Netflix and soaking up the discourse surrounding the couples on TikTok.
What’s your favorite sports team?
As a Philly native, I’m proudly an obnoxious Eagles fan #GoBirds.
This or That?
Award win or speaking slot secured
Speaking slot secured. Earned speaking opportunities are very few and far between, so when a client secures a speaking spot, it’s a pretty big deal – especially if it’s for a significant industry event like CES.
Pen & paper notes or Google Docs?
Paper and pen notes are clutch for me. I use a planner with notes so I can always go back to a specific date when a meeting took place and get all the essential details that I’ve jotted down. I find it much easier than having to go through a slew of Google Docs.
